Home Piano Lessons
Home lessons are possible in central London as well as across zones 1-2-3 going in various directions, visit the Home Piano Tuition Page to explore the areas. This type of lessons is available only for children, not for adult pupils.
Before booking home lessons I would like to ask you to consider a few points:
- Children tend to behave much better outside of their home environments.
- Concentration is also better elsewhere.
- If you are interested in preparing for exams or any kind of performances it would be much better to have lessons in another environment. That alone gives an opportunity to practise playing outside of your home where even the walls help you to play and the entire environment is typically a clearly defined comfort zone. When a child is used to playing only at home playing in an exam or a concert is perceived as a big change and anticipated with increased anxiety.
- It is significant to have access to a good quality fully professional grand piano at least sometimes when learning piano and having lessons on such an instrument is a great opportunity to enhance overall learning.
Currently lessons are taking place in person as well as via Skype, Zoom and FaceTime due to the COVID-19 outbreak. There is full equipment on the teacher's side. Having had to move all tuition to online formats in March 2020 we have learned that this is an extremely functional alternative. But it is also great to be able to return to face-to-face lessons in a normal non-digital reality which the lockdowns and the following transition periods suspended for longer periods of time. Hopefully the pandemic ends at some point soon and allows a complete return.
